Every ONETURTLE piece is made in one place: our studio in Eemnes. That wasn't always true. We started in 2020 in Amsterdam — a city full of small, independent labels and makers, the kind of place that makes starting something small feel completely normal. Amsterdam gave the brand its first energy. But as the way we worked took shape, made-to-order down to every detail, we needed something a busy city center couldn't give us.
A Different Way of Working
Made-to-order isn't a warehouse operation, it's closer to a workshop. Every piece is printed and finished in-house, by hand, one order at a time. That way of working needs room: space for printing equipment, storage for materials, and a quiet place to actually focus on getting each piece right.
Why Eemnes
Eemnes sits right in the center of the Netherlands, which made it a practical choice: close enough to reach easily, far enough from the pace of the city to actually get things done. It's where our studio is today, and where every ONETURTLE piece has been printed, checked and packed since we moved.
What a day in the studio looks like
Orders come in, we print the design onto a blank made from organic or recycled materials, and every piece gets checked and packed by hand. Nothing sits on a shelf waiting to be sold — it's made because you ordered it, not before.
What didn't change
The address changed, but what we stand for didn't. We still make nothing until someone orders it, and we still choose organic and recycled materials where we can. The story behind the name — and what “Protect Your Shell” really means — is one we've already told in full. Here, it simply keeps living: one studio, one order at a time.
Protect Your Shell.
